Flavorbliss Grilled Salmon

Craving for fish, I went to our neighborhood grocer and found fresh Alaskan salmon. I couldn’t hold myself but to let myself be attracted to the fresh orange color of the fish. My mind quickly thought, dinner! So, I bought about half pound of salmon, the one with the skin still attached, to be grilled for dinner for two and I’ve found this fantastic recipe online. With some modifications here and there, I was satisfied with my grilled salmon. Hopefully, the recipe would tickle your palate, too!

1/2 pound fresh salmon fillets
lemon pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste
salt to taste
2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Season salmon fillets with lemon pepper, garlic powder, and salt.
In a small bowl, stir together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and vegetable oil until sugar is dissolved. Place fish in a zipper bag with the soy sauce mixture, seal, and turn to coat. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Preheat grill for medium heat. Lightly oil grill grate, so the fish won’t stick. Place salmon on the preheated grill, brush marinade on each side of the fish, and discard the rest. Cook salmon for 2-4 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

The sweetness of the mixture of soy sauce and brown sugar make the fillets taste like teriyaki. Serve with steam veggies on the side. Enjoy!!
