We love rice. I love steamed white rice, and my husband loves flavored rice. Or, he would just eat the steamed with rice with salt. Yikes!, I thought.. it’s nothing wrong with it, really. It’s just a matter of preference. So, I started being creative in cooking rice. Adding salt while cooking it, putting garlic salt, or any kind of seasonings I could find. And recently, I started putting minced garlic or garlic and cilantro in it. It’s good to as a side dish to latin food.
It’s incredibly simple.
All you need is rice, garlic, salt, and cilantro.
To be precise: to one cup of rice, I put one clove of minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon cilantro. Season it with salt.
You can put more cilantro or garlic if you like. And just stir and let the rice cook in the rice cooker!
If you’re cooking the rice in a pan, for every cup of rice, add 1 1/2 cups water. Put in garlic, cilantro and salt. Bring the rice to boil at medium heat. When boiling, turn the heat down to medium low. Simmer until the rice is cooked. Add more water if necessary. Fluff the rice before serving.
