My husband and I are fans of avocados. Sometime we just cut and sprinkle them with salt. It’s really good. I must say that he got me into eating avocados with salt.
My parents used to serve me avocado juice, which they juiced the avocado and put some chocolate and coffee on them, and some sugar, of course. Yummy, but my husband does not like it. So, I rarely make them.
Other than eating avocados with salt, my husband also got me eating guacamole. Truth to be told, I did not like it one bit until one day… I decided to make one for him.
I made the guacamole for an appetizer at a Thanksgiving dinner this past year. To my surprise, everyone seemed to like it. So, since then, my husband and I have been making them often. More like, he makes it most of them than I do! It is very easy and simple.
My husband does his short cuts… instead of using fresh garlic and onion, he put garlic and onion powder. The guacamole tastes the same as if we use the fresh ingredients. So, don’t be afraid to try!
1 ripe avocado- med size
1 clove of garlic- chopped finely
1 jalapeno- seeded
1 tbp olive oil
1 tbp lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
Sometime, I put cut up and seeded tomatoes, and mix the tomato in the guacamole just to get a red color in it.
What you need to do… just mash the avocado just like your mashing potatoes with masher or spoon. Then, you put in all the rest of ingredients. That is all! Oh, serve it with tortilla chips.
Ps. Garlic is the key to the good taste!
